Monday morning things...

Here's a list of interesting or semi-interesting things I'm mulling over at this monday morning...

1. It's finally here, and about time to,
English Teacher X- Guide to Teaching English abroad
I'll review it as soon as I get my hands on a copy, but it's sure to be good.

2. I'm really impressed how France has 'matured' in it's international affairs and is now leading the way in Libya, with the U.K. following sharply in their wake: Good luck to all those involved.

3. Failed my first student at University last weekend, still thinking that one over. The student didn't attend any classes but still had the bravery to ask if I would pass them. Nice try, but no.

4. Only just realised Poland doesn't have DAB radio, wish I knew that before I shipped my Hi-fi from the U.K.

5. Beginning my 'spring' exercise program, cue: sit ups, press ups, running and 'Survivor - Eye of the Tiger' on my MP3.

6. I have some 72hr deodorant, does this mean it's now acceptable not to was for three days?

  1. With reference to point 6 :

theoretically yes, otherwise you'd wash it off, but who on earth invented it and for what occasion? Then again according to old Polish wifes'-tales you are going to live longer if you only wash once a week.

My wife was asked on a bus, by an old lady, how often she washed. She said in a confused manner that she washed every day. The women replied that this was not good and that she had grown so old and fit by only washing once a week.

From what I can smell when I do take the bus, a lot of people follow this philosophy.
