Just a quick one today, I've literally only found 1 minute to sit at the computer all day so I'm going to highlight one comment post from 'Philip Morton' which may have gone un-noticed.
Phil is a long time reader of this blog, he has literally been here since the beginning. Not a Tefler by trade but he does produce a fine range of forensic science equipment, useful for messing around with... or covering your tracks after you've buried yet another annoying student.
but any way, back to Phil's post.
He linked to the website from the British Library which is attempting to map the many nuances of English. To contribute all you need to do is donate a sample of your voice (uploadable via Audioboo) and hey presto. Not only do I think it's a good idea to try and map the English language but it's also been quite interesting to listen to some of the samples, not to mention exploring the British library website as a whole - which I must admit I hadn't stumbled upon before.
so do your bit for language research here:
Interesting link. Thanks for the heads up!
